august twelfth two thousand twenty six
happy wednesday cuties!
two weeks ago my bestie and i went to go see spiderman brand new day and wow. i literally have no words. like it was crazy. i think that all of the spiderman movies have been incredible going all the way back to the first spiderman movies with toby mcguire. but something about this movie was just wow. i can't even find words to describe this movie just wow. from the music, the acting, storyline, and the cinematography literally incredible chefs kiss. firstly i am so happy that we are finally getting so see a street level spiderman again. i feel like with spiderman in the mcu we've just seen so much of space stuff that we kind of left the ''friendly neighborhood spiderman'' in andrew garfields movies. it was just sooo refreshing to kind of get away from all the typical space stuff we've been seeing. i also loved how we got to see arachnid peter i was absolutely gagged when his eyes turned and we saw how powerful that side of him was. i actually like when the mcu dabbles in dark themes. I'm so amazed at peters powers like i loved seeing all the fight sequences and how they had little touches and parts from the comics. especially the last fight scene with the ninjas wow. my heart also breaks for bruce like i can't even get into it really because i know what's happening to him ugh </3. now, can we talk about mj oh em geeeee. first of all zendaya looked stunning. i loved that we can see how they've all aged through college and not in a dramatic way either. zendayas range as an actor is incredible every time i saw her on screen i was just in absolute awe with her. i'm so infatuated with mj and peters story but it's so heart wrenching to watch. to see how peter yearns for mj tugs at my heart so bad i can't. can we bring back yearning? the scene of peter walking into ned and mjs house warming party was just perfect cinema. its like i could feel every single emotion that peter was feeling through the screen. ugh and when mj found the note that peter wrote i was fully confident that she was going to be willing to get to know him again and start over but the way she said she didn't love him i felt like my heart shattered right there in my seat. i also looooved having the punisher in this movie. i love frank and peters dynamic in this movie it was so nice to see peter interact with someone else other than the avengers. jean gray also incredible! i think they did an amazing job introducing her into the mcu i love how complex her character was and her powers omg?? she lowkey had me siiiick when she was in mj and that whole scene of her and peter on the roof (iykyk). but i can't wait to see more of her in the mcu. lastly, the scene where peter finally let jean in his mind was insane. the whole dialog between her and may was so moving i couldn't stop crying. can we talk about how jean was literally breathing for peter after he took a bullet for her????!!! was i the only one who thought peter was gonna die AGAIN??(i have ptsd from infinity war). i can't wait to see more of jean and peters friendship. why am i seeing everywhere people shipping jean and peter??? i fear people don't have media literacy they're just friends! or am i delulu?? i'm team #petermj forever. but overall i looooooved this movie 10/10!
